This cd is one of the overlooked gems of dark ambient releases. It seems a lot of French artists are barely recognized in the States, even LJDLP. This cd comes in a beautiful digipak surrounded by Germanic runes, when you lift up the cd there is a picture of a rather infamous baby, i wonder if anyone recognizes him? The first song doesn't really strike me as French but is more reminiscent of the music of Scotland. Somber bagpipes give someone the impression of the funeral procession of a great Scottish hero, perhaps after a bloody battle with the English. The next track sounds almost like a collaboration between Aghast and Raison D'etre with MZ 412 throwing in some noisier elements, needless to say very frightening. Track four is one of the most oppressively dark, yet incredibly beautiful tracks i think I've ever heard.

The cd contains deep contrasts between noisier elements and almost medieval music at times, yet they are somehow able to make a marriage of these elements, like the alchemists of old. Truly this music is some of the darkest, yet most evocative and beautiful material I've heard in quite some time.
