ok, take away what you may already know about ammo previously working with driving erratic, and relentless drum n' bass directions. if you are seeking that, it's definitely not here, but if you are a fan of j. sellekaers, xingu hill, ambre, and his solo material, you just might very well enjoy the directions taken by c-drik and john sellekaers of ammo. originally commissioned by brussels 2000:city of culture, as a part of radiolab, café 9, and distorted media projects was recorded in september 2, 2000 at brussels 2000 headquarters and later edited at metarc studios. the source material used on this release are from lilith's field notes database from distorted media. using are variety of terrestrial sound devices, samples, and unmethodical textures, ammo shows us a more introspective side to it's construct.
this fourteen track release works actually very similar to some of ambre's directions taken on their first release and later with the threesome series. using are variety of mysterious transitional elements that emerge from the shadows and decay in perfect harmony with their surrounding elements. providing an array of disjointed and eruptive percussion devices, metamorphic harmonic patches, cold swells, phonetic textures, and encompassing derelict atmospheres. imagine being abducted by aliens and taken to a far away unknown planet rich in new "life", creating new memories and identities inside your brain, inside your psyche, this is "kaleinoiscope." and be sure not forget those headphones again.
