ephemeral dawn
this is one of the first tesco bands I have heard, and I guess the music presented on the cd is typical for the label. anenzephalia presents the listener with ambient-like sound structures filled with drones, atmospheric noises, subtile percussion. this cd is a collection of live and studio work recorded between 1992 and 1995.
most of the tracks on the cd are slow compositions that fit the power electronics genre with dark noises and frequencies layered on top of brooding basslines, and distant voice samples. slow sparse percussion hints the structure of the song, basslines accentuate the depth of the track and add to the overall dark atmosphere, while analog noises, distorted bleeps, static outbursts and clicks take the sound into another dimension.
this disk is an intriguing venture and next step for those dark ambient and noise fans.
