autechre is back with their new full length cd (do not let the title fool you). this release is more ambient-like than previous ones (especially "chiastic slide" or "amber"). the sound seems more "flattened" at times, less dramatic. very enjoyable disk nevertheless. still same never-repeating torn patterns, mellow shuffled beats, quiet clicks and rattling. my personal favorites are "rrpeg", "maphive 6.1", "pir", "outpt". plus the artwork is amazing as usual. "ep7" creates atmosphere of melancholy and quiet chaos that any fan of idm will appreciate.
