re-membrances 1998

anton · September 30, 1999

the first track i heard by dust of the basement was "dreams of persecution" - addictive, delicate and beautiful with light danceable electronics and male and female vocals wonderfully blending together. on this cd the band presents several remixes of their older material. all the songs are filled with graceful melodies, soft percussion and open the fragile and elegant world to the listener; female vocals is enchanting - light and powerful it envelopes you in the melody and is incredibly addictive. "re-membrances" contains several versions of "lullaby" (new track?) along with remixed older material ("dreams of persecution" still is the best hit on the cd - it is simply incredible). overall, a nice and pleasant synth-pop/electronica release with heavenly voices and simple catchy melodies.
