feindflug (1999)
anton · March 17, 2000

this mcd came out 10 months before the re-release of full-length "vierte version"; this disk contains two tracks that did not make it to the album, while remaining three could be found on other releases.

fiendflug's style is easily recognizable and stays the same - heavy distorted percussion, clean synths and overall extreme militancy of the music. pure aggression in the form of solid noisy ebm assault. by now you should have heard at least several tracks.

first new track, "im auftrag der ehre", is a bit different from usual band's style - it is quite slow and the intensity is built upon regular exploding beat; graceful synthline and additional outbursts of distorted percussion add depth to this instrumental. the contrast between noisy background and ethereal melody is even more striking than on usual band's tracks where militancy of the sound takes over.

"nsd" ventures into another direction. more danceable techno-oriented beats serve as the driving force for the track, and cut-up, more obvious than before, guitar passages replace familiar noisy percussion. however, the overall aggressive spirit of the band is quite recognizable.

the rest of the tracks, "kahle bedrohung", "leitbild" and "lagerhaft" are the ones you've already heard - yet another reminder of band's excellent sound.
