tanz mit dem teufel

melotron (2000)

"tanz mit dem teufel" is first maxi-cd from upcoming (end of february) full-length "fortschritt". in addition to "tanz mit dem teufel" itself, the disk contains two remixes of the title song and non-album "ich will dich". I still can't believe that I had any doubts that the guy on keyboard for in strict confidence during das ich/isc american tour was from melotron, too bad we forgot to ask dennis about it.

klirrfaktor mix of the title track is a harder (as much as it is applicable to the sound of the band) version with rather "faceless" vocals that lacks usual melotron sweetness. "ich will dich" is a solid dancefloor-stomper, almost too intense for melotron. I find myself craving for lighter synths that go better with the vocals. at times vocals on original "tanz mit dem teufel" unexpectedly reminds me of bad brit-pop, but the song is still rather catchy with heavier sound. 666 mix of the track has rather disturbing goth feel to it urging me to skip the song

seems like melotron established hit/miss practice with its singles - "dein meister" was simply incredible, following "der blaue planet" was rather faceless, last 2 versions of "kindertraum" were irresistible and dangerously addictive. "tanz mit dem teufel" seems to follow the pattern.
