the white room
my first encounter with noyce ("panique") placed it into the vast army of synth-pop bands. however, this release turned out to be a great electronic album where only catchy melodies and unprocessed vocals remind you of synthpop background.
rich male vocals together with dark soft melodies characterize the band more as a darkwave act. dark and melancholic, slowly flowing "der weisse raum" serves as an example. however, upbeat and unique percussion allows the band escape the legion of usual cliché-sounding darkwave acts. danceable and light "white noise" featuring funny male vocals duo makes this song a light and amusing club hit. "panique" still appears to be the catchiest track on the album - irresistible dance hit. another treat on the disk is clean, minimal and beautiful synth-pop "colours" that is one of the most graceful and melancholic songs on the disk.
a great reason (for some of us) to purchase this album will be "r.i.p. hop" that features the voice of rudy r. of :w: fame. slow and graceful track magically changes after introduction of smothered rudy's vocals in the best traditions of "embryodead".
after a while you get used to the vocals seems to be rather displaced at first and enjoy the simple grace and dark softness of every track.
