This the first release of intelligent electronica artist Gilles Rossire is mastered by Eric van Wonterghem (Klinik) with artwork by Gilles himself. “In/Out” takes you on a trip to outlands never experienced before: encounter ambient-technoid space-scapes of the unknown.

We enter with digital rhythmic transmissions and frequencies that harmonize with interesting analog sound devices. Into this we explore the outworld soundscapes that build to more rhythmic and tweaked arrangements in the next few tracks. oil 10 is using a variety of ultra-cool sweeping sounds, therimin resonances, and digital beeps and fading pulsations. Some material reminds me of Aphex Twin meets Autechre's quirky compositional techniques. Hydraulic beats and freaked-out sounds collide with a funky arrangement on tracks such as "oil 7." Lost space signals transmit superior rhythmics to the mind on "oil 8", while the next track plays around with various weird sound frequencies and erratic digital compositions. Closing with the imperative deadlines of "oil10" meeting it's destructive countdown. Very cool!
