scott herren is the person behind savath + savalas, also known for his projects delarosa & asora and prefuse73. this album, released on renowned chicago's hefty records, has been recorded in brooklyn and atlanta.

this is one of those albums that immediately captures you with its wonderful atmosphere. "folk songs..." seems to be quite appropriate title for this album filled with warm polyphonic acoustic overtones, sliding guitar passages and laid-back electronica structured around reluctant percussion. this relaxed, dreamy feel reminded me of best sybarite's work, building similar mix of acoustic and electronic sound elements. if you listen deeper, you will realize how well-structured and complex the arrangements are, shifting between quieter ambiance to multi-instrumental arrangements.

this is instantly addictive album, that slowly envelops you in its fuzzy cloud of ambience sprinkled with myriad of tiny sounds, smoothing out your thoughts and memories and then seamlessly establishing a pattern with subtle percussion and deep atonal strings.
