procession of the dead
this 7” is a re-issue of the first schloss tegal album. with the first opening track you get a taste of band’s power rhythms backed by heavy dose of ideology and conceptualism. the latter is something that proves to be the underlining motive of the whole band’s work, where each album is a soundtrack and a personalized reflection of such subjects as ufo’s, crop circles, dark rituals, paranormal activities, etc.
the title track is eerie tribal motive with steady rhythm, bizarre distant chants. chaotic metallic squeals, slowly evolving noises build highly visual atmosphere, that is mysterious and frightening at the same time.
“dreamtime” opens with ethereal motives that flow into marching dominant rhythms and drones. the track is more steady and less mysterious, possessing a distinct dark tribal touch.
the overall atmosphere of this release is quite interesting – a peculiar balance of frightening soundscapes, beckoning mystery of the unknown and captivating tribal intensity of the dark rhythms.
