meusic, invisible magnetic missive

this short 7" has almost instantly attracted my attention, which of course would not be surprising considering a mood I have been in lately. "sybarite" is a very appropriate title for this project that creates a sound that is easily enjoyable, yet possessing deeper more exquisite charm that becomes obvious only after some time. strangely familiar pleasant melodies are glued together with bubbling small percussion textures on "meusic" that move forward slowly. random sparse sounds add some chaotic element to the serenity of the melodic parts. atonal key parts enhance melancholic touch of the music.

"invisible magnetic missive" has an edgier start; amazing deep bass grooves flow during first part of the track. very interesting "elongated" sound is backed by static washes and fascinating combination of organic and technoid elements. atmospheric sweeps, random bleeps and drones enhance even further peculiar ambient textures. echoing percussion adds depth to the transparent sound textures that slowly change and evolve, each time surprising you when you realize that seemingly unchanging track has moved so far from its initial sound.

overall, I was very pleased by the atmosphere of this record that has an interesting balance of warm atonal ambience, simple yet very fitting percussion textures and inventive glowing melodic touches. and as usual, I am very hesitant to call it idm, since this term has almost no meaning left. judge it yourself if you get a chance.
