this is yet another compilation that presents several sides of the power electronics genre (simply "noise" for most of us). it starts off with some ambient tracks of aube (m6 - very, very nice track, definitely worth listening), dandy, kriedler, newt. then the album gains speed and aggressiveness with tracks by voltaic, converter, monolith, and sonar. pail, mimetic field and si-[cut].db present the "funky" blend of noise and other genres. last three tracks are "less (feat. vanessa briggs)" by haujobb, nude's "love is in the air", and bit-tonic's "little red riding hood."

the album starts up really slowly with extremely minimalistic ambient works. you sort of get into the mood after first three tracks but then you hear newt's "ostad", and it renders all previous tracks on the album merely a weak attempt to sound intelligent and interesting. converter is another brilliant track on the compilation. this one-man band from ohio (that recently released an album on ant-zen). this is probably the first really mature noise project from usa. the track called "denogginizer" changes its rhythm several times, going from slow beginning to crushing middle parts with heavy slow beats and wall of intense structured noise on the background. the sound is really layered and dense but the track never becomes too cluttered retaining a nice danceable (well, almost) beat. definitely pick up converter's full album! pail's "evil inside (debased mix)" is a nice mixture of flowing synths and noisy beats - very beautiful, unique, and catchy. mimetic field's "overrated (norscq mix)" is another unique track with great breaking bassline, interesting noisy beats, and amazing mix of percussion and guitar. last two tracks on the album (by nude and bit-tonic) feature nice female vocals and have more of a techno feeling to them. this is definitely a compilation that has something for everyone.
