ringworm v.1
well, after endless months of searching in the depths of the darkest pits on this planet, nurv (DVM), and timan records bring you some of the best dark electronic acts known to mortal man. Compiled by nurv of I, parasite, art execution by treboR of monstrum sepsis and released on tinman: we explore some of the most unique dark experimental bands out there.
Most of this bands are fairly young, but they give us the understanding of what could possibly be the future of industrial music. Divide and assimilate into the souls of iot, android lust, neuroplague, railgun, polytrancesciense, metus mortuus, I, parasite, monstrum sepsis, oneiroid psychosis, cydonia, injury, zenopede, cluster m13, along with the few others.
Bands such as railgun immerse your mind into a dark but enlightening track titled "greasing the palms oh hope". Here, Nathan, s. moody introduces soft enticing string elements layered by heavy bass synth structures and some nice chaotic percussive elements with total synthetic aspects similar that of gridlock. The smooth flowing light strings keep your mind at ease.
TreboR and Paul Karlik of monstrum sepsis give you "pathogenic toxomia" taken from their latest self-released demo "inception". This track is only a tease of what lies ahead from these Chicago musicians. They use an array of complex percussive and sample elements, free-form melodic string progressions, and a consistency of bass synth elements to keep it all together.
Nurv and J of I, parasite apply more of a twisted idealism to the menacing exclusive track "(re)possessed". Giving you no sense of hope to rest easily after hearing this disturbing cold and isolated track. It is probably the darkest track on this comp next to metus mortuus's "remoteness of insanity". This track infact reminds me much of the dark elements ah cama-sotz uses. Simple but completely effective, abysmally enthralling deep menacing strings that touch the spinal cord and rip it out. This strong track was taken from "domain of neptune" cd.
And not to forget the most uniquely different kind of noir music, we are given the taste of polytrancesciense's short but effective track - "paraselene interior". Reminding me of a particular sound that I've once forgotten, but I am very enlightened to hear. Fans of Dario Argento's "I goblin" material would like this one!
This is just a touch of what this comp has to offer, so open you mind to the dark ones, get infested with the ringworm.
