shockwave
voltaic falls under the definition of experimental techno presenting the listener with the compositions that build up slowly and gradually gain speed and momentum immersing the listener into the transparent world of sparse beats, minimal sound structures, tweaked sequences and dislocated metallic percussion.
the nature of the music at times reminds me of cold soundstructures rendered by black lung in "domint" or "question two". song "shockwave" seems to be the most representative on the disk with fast-paced minimal distorted percussion, subtle little noises on the background and constant driving rhythm. the sound slowly creeps on you with background noise sneaking up while light metallic beats occupy your attention; and several minutes later you suddenly find yourself in the middle of complex track full of strange noises behind the seemingly repetitive beat.
the deceptive minimalism, the slowly building nature of the tracks, the experimental noisy nature of light percussion will gratify any attentive listener.
